  • How To Powerpoint to Success

Posted on July 24th, 2010 admin No comments

If you use Powerpoint for businesses, chances are you are boring people to death – every single day!  Ever wondered if there was a way of using powerpoint more effectively?  Ever wondered if your presentation could be used to help you make that sale?  We can help you do just that!

A presentation is normally your interpretation of ever other presentation you have ever seen.  You might well use the right size text, and the right colour, but ever wondered why people don’t get your message?

Its a fact of life that everyone learns new information in a selection of different ways.  For some people, information is best learnt by being told, while others like the facts.  Other people work best through demonstrations and pictures. whichever way works for you, it won’t always work for your customers.

That is why your presentations don’t work. You know what you are talking about. However your customers have to take everything you say and show all into their heads in one go – and that physically can’t happen!

The human brain, amazing as it is, just can’t be forced to learn more than it can cope with. In figures, that means about 20 minutes of facts. The problem is, you still need them to make a decision at the end of it – and what if they are just too dazed to feel comfortable to do that?

At Golitopia, we have developed a system, through working with a number of different teaching experts, which could help you. Our system involves rewriting your whole presentation style, getting the message clarified, and helping you get the sale.

How do we do it? Talk to us and find out. Register with Golitopia, and get a free report explaining the basics in an easy to use format. If you would like us to help you further, maybe with some training, or even create your presentations for you – get in touch!

  • Your Compertition Checker

Posted on April 14th, 2008 admin No comments

With your website, it is possible to see who is visiting your website.  You can see where they come from, where they have been and how long they stay on your site.  Keeping your eye on the logs is an important aspect of measuring the efectivness of your website.

Almost all businesses have compertition.  It could be that you are a market leader, a part of a cartel or just a small player in a huge worldwide industry.  Where ever you are, it is wise to keep an eye on what is happening in your marketplace.  It allows you to be aware of trends, new promotions and products and gives you a better understanding of how your customer views you in the whole scheme of things!

The best place to start is the trade press.  These give you a good idea of what is going on – and every industry has at least one dedicated news source.  To find them, visit Google and type in something like ‘(your industy) trade news’.

The next thing to do is to ask a friend who isn’t in your industry to find information about your industry on the internet.  Take a note of the keywords they use, and see which companies come up.

Finally, use services like compete.com and quantcast.com who give you a good idea of the number of visitors these other sites get.  You can enter the details of your main competitor into the search box and see what happens. We often do this to get confirmation of the claims made by business owners and advertisers. Compete.com offer a range of the measured site’s top keywords – which is REALLY handy!

There are other sites like Alexa.com which do the same, but the major problem with these sites is they reach a level of popularity which makes it beneficial to tune your site to their requirements.  This tends to exagirate the resultant website ratings.

  • Excel Problem

Posted on October 10th, 2007 admin No comments

If you did your duty to Microsoft and upgraded your Office package recently, you will now be using Excel 2007 for your calculations.

    Try this one -

    850*77.1

What answer did you get? Was it 100,000?  If that is the case, you are using Excel 2007 because all calculations which involve this answer should actually give the answer 65,535.  Try it on an older version of the software.

Microsoft have yet to admit what the problem is, however, the simple workaround is to not use Excel 2007 until the problem is solved.
